Some of my best high school memories are of the times that I spent with Cherrie Page, a Rotary exchange student from Australia, who lived with a host family next door to me for a few months.
We exchanged recipes, laughed at the language differences even in our English speaking commonality, and learned about a different world while she was here. Now, the Rotary Club of Indianola is hoping other families in the area will want to explore this same experience.
The Rotary Club of Indianola is seeking three host families to host an exchange student from Brazil during the 2013-2014 school year.
Host families must agree to participate in training and orientation sessions offered by the club or district and to provide room and board for the student during the hosting period, typically about four months.
Indianola will be hosting a 16-year-old male student from Brazil. He will arrive in August of 2013 and be in Iowa until June of 2014.
