I’m a writer. I write all the time, including while sitting at a convention table and chatting with friends. Writing is something that always has come easily to me.
That’s why it was such a surprise the first time I sat down to write a grant proposal. We were looking for money to promote the now defunct Iowa Wine Festival. I offered to write the grant because that’s what I do. I write.
But somehow the form of grant writing intimidated me. The pressure of knowing that funding for something I cares about very much depending in how well I did this intimidated me even more.
I was lucky. I had a friend in the grant writing business so I called and asked for help.
Now, there’s a better option. The Warren County Philanthropic Partnership is offering two workshops in grant writing. One is tonight at 7 pm at the YMCA community room. The other is at noon Friday, February 8, also at the Y.
The workshops will help you seek grants from the partnership, as well as any other grants you may be after.
It’s a great chance to nail down expert help for a challenging task. RSVP to email@example.com.
