Simpson College’s 2013 Homecoming is this week and we’re excited for all of the festivities to happen.

Despite the weather, it’ll still be a great week for everyone to show his or her support for Simpson College. Show your Simpson spirit wherever you go.

Street painting for Simpson’s student organization starts Monday, Oct. 7. With the theme of “Let Freedom Ring,” everyone’s been bringing out a creative side. It’s a good reminder of patriotism and freedom we have in our country.

Monday is also the day of the homecoming kickoff, medallion hunt and a volleyball game. On Tuesday, Oct. 8, students will have the opportunity to participate in the Student Government Association sponsored flag football game and Toga Tuesday. Wednesday will revolve around athletics, with a volleyball game at 7:30 pm, men’s soccer at 7 pm and the Storm Grand Prix/Relay Race. Street painting wraps up on Thursday and there will be a dodgeball tournament for the college at 8 pm.

Friday will be an exciting day, as the evening will be dedicated to the annual Yell Like Hell. Students have worked hard to coordinate stomp routines, the Simpson Storm Cheerleading and Dance Teams have been choreographing and practicing their routines since the summer and the students will all be gathered inside Cowles Fieldhouse to finally see the hard work come to life.

The 2013 Homecoming game against Central College is on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 1 pm. Women’s soccer is at 5pm and men’s soccer takes the field at 7 pm. There will be a homecoming tailgate as well.

Simpson College will be filled with red, gold and Storm spirit for this entire week. Let’s Go Storm!
