While streets on the west side of town seem to be nicely cleaned and the yellow lights of snowplows flash down around the Square, trees aren’t faring so well.
A slender pine next door has split, with half laying on top of the house, which seems undamaged. The other half is leaning away from the house, as if trying to pull the whole tree with it.
A tall shrub in our front yard is leaning with the weight of snow, forming a protective cocoon around our front door.
While the street is quiet, footprints in the snow show I’m not the first to be out and about today.
